Private Client Specialist
(Wine Jobs:
Sales & Marketing)
Full Time
Seckford Wines Limited
Woodbridge,
England
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Seckford Wines as a Private Client Specialist, following the upcoming retirement of James Maitland, who has played a key role in shaping and growing our private client relationships over many years. We’re now looking to build on that legacy and take this part of the business forward.
This is a senior, outward-facing role for an experienced wine professional with strong commercial instincts, a deep understanding of fine wine, and the confidence to develop meaningful, long-term client relationships.
The Role
You will take ownership of Seckford’s private client business, focusing on new client acquisition, relationship management, and brand advocacy. The role is centred around business development, supported by regular client lunches, dinners, tastings, and one-to-one engagement with collectors and high-net-worth customers.
You’ll be trusted to grow your own client portfolio while representing Seckford and its fine wine offer at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquiring new private clients across wine sales and long-term storage services
- Manage and develop relationships with an existing portfolio of private clients
- Deliver highly personalised, proactive account management
- Build relationships through regular face-to-face meetings, tastings and dining
- Act as a brand ambassador for Seckford within the fine-wine community
- Leverage and expand your existing network of industry and private-client contacts
About You
- Extensive wine knowledge with strong fine-wine market expertise
- Proven experience working with private clients or high-net-worth individuals
- An established and relevant network within the wine or luxury sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and commercially driven
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own business
What We Offer
- Permanent, full-time position (start date ASAP)
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience
- Remote/hybrid working — you’ll be client-facing, not office-bound
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
- The opportunity to work with one of the UK’s most respected fine-wine merchants
How To Apply
Please send your CV and a brief cover letter explaining why you’re a strong fit for the role.
