Here’s an exciting job opportunity if you’re a marketeer looking to work in the wine industry. The Whalley Wine Shop is an award-winning, growing and ambitious company with nine very successful years under our belt. To help us to grow and take us to the next level we need a highly motivated Marketing Manager to join our current team of 5 staff. Marketing experience is required, marketing experience in retail would be fantastic.
This is a new position. The job involves reviewing our existing marketing strategy, creating an annual marketing plan, implementing all marketing tactics and, specifically, we are looking for someone who can kick off our online sales, and raise our online presence across all social media platforms.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities….
Online
> Full control of our website, adding content to keep it up to date, driving increasing numbers of visitors to our site. Familiarity with WordPress is useful.
> Starting e-commerce sales with a limited product range. Creating online offers, changing them monthly, or when they have sold out.
> Running our Social Media – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Producing and posting content, responding and engaging with customers, driving an ongoing increase in follower numbers.
> Creating and sending out weekly e-mails. Building our customer database. Familiarity with Mailchimp is useful.
> Writing content for a weekly blog, changing our ‘by the glass’ offering monthly.
Off line
> In-store – Responsibility for ongoing point of sale material, window displays, promotional activity.
> Events – Creating a schedule of events and tastings both off site and in store, and organising supporting marketing materials.
> Press Releases – Developing media contacts, writing and distributing occasional press releases.
> Advertising and Brochures – Responsibility for all advertising and printed materials.
> Direct selling to customers – One day a week will be spent on the shop floor helping customers to choose wines they will enjoy.
