About this role

Roles like this do not come along very often. It’s a very exciting time to join us as we have a fresh agenda and have set ourselves some ambitious and challenging targets.  Reporting into our Marketing Director you will drive the vision for our Australian based brand portfolio, being empowered to lead and make strategic choices.   You will also manage the day to day planning and implementation of existing activation platforms. You will  have at your disposal, information from consumer, shopper, competitor and market data, to enable you to apply these insights to develop differentiated, engaging activities and plans which generate clear brand momentum and more sales.  Operating at a senior level, you will have full control over your brands and will be expected to share your knowledge and expertise within the wider team. You’ll be part of a small ambitious team with a clear remit to drive a brand led agenda throughout the business.  

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing our Australian wine portfolio: Including  Hardys, Grant Burge, Barossa Ink, Jam Shed, Starve Dog Lane & Fine Wine Partner brands
  • Fully leading, developing and executing our portfolio vision and brand strategy and strong differentiated plans for brands of responsibility
  • Working directly with our Category, Shopper, Sales and Supply teams, utilising insights to identify needs and opportunities for the Australian wine portfolio 
  • Working with our sales team to drive the brand agenda within the business and engage with key customers to motivate and excite
  • Brand activation, execution and campaign evaluation: including agency management
  • Effectively managing and controlling an allocated marketing budget
  • Identifying and managing new product development opportunities and innovation pipeline management
  • Understanding, influencing and supporting the global alignment requirements for the brands you are responsible for
  • Being an ambassador within the team you will be expected to lead by example and be willing to coach your colleagues where appropriate

About you

You will have a proven background as a high performer in a  Brand Manager or above within the FMCG sector, having managed the full brand agenda. You’ll be a strategic thinker but more importantly will make things happen, driving our brand consideration and sales.  You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues in our sales and category teams in addition to working with and managing our external agencies.  You will be a skilled influencer who can influence and challenge at all levels. 

Your energy and drive will be infectious and you’ll love sharing your expertise with colleagues and be confident in presenting to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.  You will be proactive and able to deliver in a busy environment and possess good knowledge of continuous research databases in addition to using insights to inform decisions.

You’ll have had previous exposure to the UK grocery market and have a good understanding of the key drivers within these channels.

Project management skills and experience in new product development are essential for this role.
