Trainee Sales Manager - West Midlands based - Office and Field role

Pieroth are currently looking for a Trainee Sales Manager to join their UK management team.
This is a field and office-based role working from both our Regional office in Birmingham and visiting clients, so being West Midlands based is preferred. The purpose of the role is to drive sales of Pieroth wines to private clients through the management of a team of representatives conducting home wine tastings. Reporting to your Regional manager, this will include supporting and working with your existing field sales team and working with, and training any new employees.
It is a varied position and requires an individual with a combination of sales skills and the commerciality and vision required to develop a team of representatives and increase the local client base. You will have developed presentation and influencing skills with the ability to work successfully with both new and existing clients. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to move away from a purely sales focused role.
As Trainee Sales Manager your key objectives will be:
- To achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- To employ, train and motivate sufficient representatives to accomplish goals.
- To control key cost areas – samples, expenses, accommodation and venues.
- To achieve company KPI targets for new client acquisition.
Key tasks
- Nurturing representatives to activate existing client database.
- Field train representatives to expand their client base through acquisition of new clients.
- Telephone selling and training.
- Attending and participating at Pieroth exhibitions.
- Attending and participating wine tasting Events.
- Engaging passionately with all Pieroth promotions.
- Conducting home wine tastings for both new and existing clients.
To apply for this role your experience and skills should include:
- Demonstrable experience of face to face or a telephone sales role.
- Knowledge of wine is desirable though not essential
- Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to self-manage.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
