The company
Brewster Partners are looking to recruit a Drinks Import Operator for a global logistics company based in Tilbury. The Drinks Import Operator will manage day-to-day operations specifically for beers, wines and spirits customers as part of the sea freight import team.
The job
- Chasing customs clearance documents from customers prior to vessel arrival.
- Controlling customs processes to ensure correct management of duties, VAT and excise taxes.
- Collecting all correct documentation prior to release / delivery of cargo.
- Arranging haulage with shipping lines / haulers.
- Ensuring shipments are rated and invoiced correctly.
- Negotiating and agreeing haulage prices with suppliers.
- Securing payment cleared funds for duty / VAT invoices prior to release / delivery of cargo.
The person
- Previous experience in drinks import logistics is essential.
- Able to work to deadlines and meet targets.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- IT literate
- Proactive problem-solving capability.
