Tasting Room Supervisor
Location: Artelium Wine Estate, Malthouse Farm Barns, Streat Lane, Streat, Sussex, BN6 8SA
The applicant should be prepared to travel to Artelium West, Madehurst, West Sussex (BN18 0NJ) as required and off-site for training as needed.
Hours of work: Full time (40 hours per week over 4 days). Usual working days are Wednesday - Saturday

Artelium is a dynamic and creative English wine brand, crafting exceptional English wines through collaboration with celebrated winemakers from grapes grown across Sussex.
We grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier and Pinot Gris across our two vineyards. At Artelium East in Streat, East Sussex, 35,000 vines are planted in sheltered clay soil. At Artelium West in Madehurst, West Sussex, 50,000 vines are planted in chalk. This combination of clay and chalk, and the unique terroir of the South Downs, provide the ideal landscape to grow the grapes that are the essence of Artelium’s wines. Working with the UK’s most talented winemakers, we are building a reputation for fine vintage wines, crafted to suit each year’s growing conditions.

Located at Artelium East, Streat, East Sussex, our Cellar Door is home to our tasting room, wine bar and shop and is open to the public from Thursday to Saturday, and by appointment at other times. Outdoor terraces enjoy stunning views of the South Downs and guided tours through the vineyards allow visitors to appreciate Artelium’s approach to sustainable viticulture. We are creating a place where art, craft and wine converge through exciting collaborations with great artists and the country’s most renowned winemakers.
The role:
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Tasting Room Manager to join our growing team. Candidates should have a love of wine and experience in either a retail, customer service or hospitality environment. The core function of this role is to engage with customers at the Artelium Tasting Room, providing outstanding experiences. This role reports into the Hospitality Manager, but we are a small team, so the ability to work closely with all departments is essential.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Being the first point of contact for customers, whether that be by phone, email, social media enquiry or visit.
· Service of food, drink and general hospitality
· Hosting vineyard tours and wine tastings for walk-ins and pre-booked parties
· Preparation of food and light kitchen work
· Administration of bookings and enquiries
· Supervision of junior team members
· Opening and closing procedures/cleaning
· Maintain a clean and tidy and fully stocked cellar door (both FOH and BOH)
· Packaging of e-commerce orders
Candidates should be:
· Experienced in hospitality, retail or customer service
· An excellent communicator with the ability to sell!
· Flexible with availability and able to work evenings/weekends.
· Aged 18 years or over
· Able to easily bend and carry 12kg (a case of wine)
