Detailed Job Description & Responsibilities
The K Club is a world-renowned, luxury 5-star resort famous for its expansive, award-winning wine cellars. They are seeking an enthusiastic Commis Sommelier to assist the Head Sommelier in delivering an exceptional beverage experience across their fine-dining restaurants.
- Wine Service & Support: Assist the senior sommelier team with the daily setup, temperature checking, and polishing of varietal-specific glassware. Present and pour wines seamlessly according to international 5-star service standards.
- Cellar Management: Help manage the extensive physical inventory, safely receive new allocations from premium global estates, and ensure bin numbers are perfectly aligned on the master wine list.
- Guest Interaction: Offer approachable, accurate descriptions of the resort’s "by the glass" program, answering guest questions regarding grape varieties, regions, and basic food pairings.
Requirements
- A foundational qualification in wine (e.g., WSTC Level 2 or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- Prior experience in a luxury hotel, fine-dining restaurant, or high-end wine bar environment.
- Impeccable grooming, elite communication skills, and a genuine obsession with wine culture.
