Wine Consultant
VSF is a specialist wine supplier to the yachting industry based on the Côte d'Azur in the South of France. This year marks our 25th anniversary and we are looking to add a talented Wine Consultant to our sales team. This primarily, office-based role will be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the wine trade, dealing with some of the finest wines in the world from our extensive stock holdings. As a seasonal business, the ideal candidate would also be able to run wine courses, tastings and events for yacht crew during the quieter months. This varied and interesting position will suit a passionate and confident person who enjoys building personal relationships and shares our customer-focussed service ethic.
Principal roles:
• Responding to customer enquiries by email and telephone.
• Preparing quotes, including suggesting wine selections for on board cellars as well as individual charters or events.
• Order processing using Sage, creating sales orders, picking lists and invoicing.
• Providing tasting notes and food matching suggestions to accompany wine orders.
• Organising deliveries with the warehouse and logistics team, liaising with transport agents and booking couriers.
• Arranging tax free deliveries with Customs Agents.
• Outside the busy yachting season, organising and delivering wine courses, tastings and events for yacht crew.
Key skills/qualifications:
• WSET qualified, preferably to Diploma level.
• WSET certified wine educator an advantage.
• A can-do attitude to customer service.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with a good working knowledge of French.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Sage a plus but not a requirement.
