Ambitious Wine Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator for South of France vineyard
Domaine les Caizergues is a 90 hectare estate planted with some 30ha of vines (classified AOP Terrasses du Larzac, AOP Languedoc and IGP St Guilhem le Désert) located in the foothills of the Cévennes, some 45 minutes’ drive from the centre of Montpellier, in the south of France. The estate was acquired in 2017 by Bob and Pat Middleton, directors of TLS Energy Ltd, who have engaged a highly experienced estate manager to manage the estate and to make the wines; introduced organic farming and who are now working to modernise both the cellar and the wine-making.
Previously, all the wine had been sold either locally in France or in bulk.The new owners are now seeking to develop sales to private individuals and small hotels and restaurants via an agency network and direct sales via the internet in the UK and wider European markets . We are looking to recruit an experienced multi-tasker to help develop and administer the sales and marketing activity in the UK and wider markets outside of France.
The job will involve working closely with the owners and be UK based in Rickmansworth, Herts. It will however also involve working closely with the estate manager and his team in France and inevitably will involve travel to the south of France and other locations. Freedom and willingness to travel are therefore important criteria for this job.
The preferred candidate will:
Be qualified to honours degree level.
Be totally fluent in both French and English – fluency in other languages would be a bonus.
Be well-organised, proactive, have the ability to plan and manage own workload and to use their own initiative to meet deadlines and to complete projects satisfactorily. The ability to pay close attention to detail is also of utmost importance. We are a small team so we are looking for someone who will get along with the other members of our team and who will be happy to ‘muck in’ as and when necessary.
Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of digital marketing including experience of e-shots (ideally in both French and English), enhancing and updating website content, posting to social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Experience of Google analytics and SEO would be a bonus but a customer-focused attitude and a thorough understanding of what constitutes good customer service are pre-requisites of the position.
Have a genuine passion for wine and some understanding of the wine market in the UK; ideally hold at least the WSET Level 3 qualification or be willing to study to achieve it within two months of appointment. Hold a full driving licence and be happy to travel by plane, train or car, occasionally at a moment’s notice! It would be advantageous to have some knowledge of Renewable Energy.
