The English Wine Consultancy (EWC) launched in 2016 to work with prospective and established English wine producers offering project management services and support with business planning, vineyard establishment, winery design & construction, wine making and operational management. Our staff and partners are highly qualified with years of experience working as trusted experts in England and Internationally. As project managers, consultants, viticulturalists, wine makers and researchers we combine to bring our expertise and passion to help clients achieve high-quality vineyards, outstanding wine and sustainable English wine businesses.

Position summary
This is a privileged multi-faceted role for the right person to significantly contribute to the strategic positioning and growth of EWC, and to deliver seamless high-quality client services. The post holder will report directly to the Managing Director and will have responsibility for:
Business development:
a. Designing and implementing a strategic business development plan.
b. Delivering new business products to fit with customer needs.
c. Securing new clients and customer networks against agreed quarterly targets, to obtain optimal business outcomes and ensure a strong new business pipeline.
Marketing:
a. Developing a strong business profile across the sector.
b. Designing and delivering a company marketing strategy.
c. Consistently representing EWC and associated businesses and products at promotional opportunities.
d. Actively managing EWC and associated company websites, and all social media outlets.
e. Ensuring client awareness of all EWC and associated business services.
f. Effectively manage all media enquiries in accordance with EWC policies.
The Marketing & Business Development Manager will also work closely with other EWC staff to create and implement work systems and quality assurance processes.
As and when reasonably requested the post holder will be required to provide flexibility and the ability to work overtime, and to undertake any other reasonable and relevant duties from time-to-time.
Role: Part-time (0.6 – 0.8FTE)
Salary: Dependent on experience, plus commission
Holiday allowance: 25 days (pro-rata) excluding public holidays
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Remote working with travel to events and customer sites in the UK c30%
Experience and training
• Educated to degree level, desirably in viticulture, wine science, or wine business.
• At least 5-years’ experience in business development and/or marketing roles.
• A strong knowledge of the English wine production sector.
• Outstanding communication skills including high levels of IT, social media and marketing acumen.
