International Trade Marketing Manager - Europe (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Reporting to the Regional Director Europe, the International Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for integrating the brand marketing strategy with the international sales strategy, acting as a conduit between the two functions, ensuring that campaigns and mechanics are effectively implemented across all channels. This position will focus on European markets with a core purpose of leveraging and capitalising market opportunities and building customer relationships within the wine market categories to grow volume, revenue and market share. The position is based at our UK Office in the Oxford area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain close interaction with brand marketing and sales teams, remaining acutely aware of the ever-changing global marketing and environmental trends;
• Develop and implement strategic trade marketing plans for focus markets in conjunction with brand marketing and sales teams;
• Activate trade promotional support, trade and digital campaigns with sales team aligning with the marketing team in strategic core markets;
• Manage and activate trade campaigns, trade promotion support and digital campaigns with the international sales team and marketing team in secondary markets;
• Support international sales team in trade;
• Provide sales team with marketing and digital tools, materials and collateral to meet their commercial objectives;

• Manage International Trade and Wine Shows in the European markets, within budget, and to ensure best implementation, planning and marketing assets;

• Manage specified trade marketing budgets for staffing, resources and marketing expenditure;
• Observe new trends, developments and best practices;
• Communicate with all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring widespread alignment of relevant brand topics and direction whilst providing guidance and assistance on trade marketing service needs;
• Monitor global competitor activity, sharing all developments with marketing lead;
• Responsible for brand promotions and budget assignment for trade and digital activities;
• Keep Regional Director, International Director and Marketing Director abreast of activities, opportunities and performance contributing towards business goals;
• Build, grow and leverage external relationships with agents, journalists, WOSA and Wine Industry Associations;

• Develop and activate seasonal campaigns and plans in collaboration with the global marketing and international sales team to deliver comprehensive toolkits for regional implementation;
• Develop and execute trade marketing campaigns, generating digital assets and instore branding & POS materials in collaboration with the marketing managers;

Our ideal candidate has:

• Relevant tertiary qualification diploma or degree
• At least 2 years brand or trade marketing management experience
• 3 years sales FMCG experience, preferably in the beverage industry
• Knowledge of UK & European wine markets, channels and categories in changing business environments
• A passion for customer and trade environment
• Effective leadership, delegation, planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
• Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
• Performance driven and collaboratively inclined working effectively in a cross functional environment
• Must be willing and able to travel locally and internationally
