Job Title: Post-Harvest Cellar Hand

 

Location: New Hall Wine Estate, Purleigh, Essex, UK Employment Type: Full-Time Fixed Contract Start Date: 1^st November 2025 End date: 30^th April 2026

Role Overview:

New Hall Wine Estate is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Post-Harvest Cellar Hand to join our team during the post-harvest period. This hands-on role supports the winemaking team in preparing wines for bottling and assisting with bottling operations, ensuring our award-winning wines are handled with care and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support wine preparation activities including racking, blending, filtering, and stabilisation.
• Assist with bottling operations, including setting up equipment, feeding bottles, packing, and quality checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of cellar areas and equipment.
• Carry out general cellar duties such as barrel topping, tank cleaning, and wine transfers.
• Record basic data related to wine movements and bottling tasks.
• Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous practical experience in a winery or production environment is required.
• Winemaking qualifications, whilst not essential, is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks and lifting.
• Flexible availability, including potential weekend work during busy periods.
• Forklift license is an advantage but not required.
