We’re looking for a Bar Manager to join the team at The Swan Hotel, Alresford.
We are a busy, family-run hotel with a great team and a friendly working environment. This role would suit someone with experience behind the bar who enjoys hospitality.
As Bar Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the bar, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth operations, and a welcoming atmosphere for guests and locals alike.
Duties will include:
- Leading and supporting the bar team during service
- Welcoming guests and delivering excellent customer service
- Training staff and helping maintain high service standards
- Stock control and stock rotation
- Cellar management and line cleaning
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the bar
- Working closely with suppliers and management
- Supporting recruitment and development of staff
- Managing cash handling and daily bar procedures
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, health & safety, and hygiene regulations
- Using good wine knowledge to assist guests and support the team
- Helping improve service standards and bar performance
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a bar management or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A hands-on and professional approach
- Ability to work well in a busy hospitality environment
- Good wine knowledge
- Strong organisational and stock management skills
- Mixology or cocktail experience would be an advantage
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
