We’re looking for a practical, motivated Cellar Hand to join our expanding winery team and play a hands on role in producing high quality, award winning sparkling wines.

Following recent investment in our new winery facility and new ownership, Ridgeview is entering an exciting phase of development and growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, skilled team and contribute directly to the production of premium wines.

Working closely with the Winemaker, you’ll gain experience across the full winemaking process - from fermentation through to bottling - in a modern, quality focused production environment.

About the Role
You will support day to day winery operations, assisting with key winemaking activities while ensuring production is carried out safely and in line with food safety and quality standards. The role also involves maintaining accurate records and documentation required in a regulated production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with primary fermentation and malolactic fermentation monitoring

• Support blending, cold stabilisation and filtration processes

• Prepare and add tirage, including line set-up and cleaning

• Carry out routine lab testing (e.g. TA, pH, SO₂)

• Assist with equipment operation, cleaning and basic maintenance

• Maintain accurate production and quality records

• Support compliance with BRCGS food safety standards

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety

• Assist with riddling operations, labelling and order preparation if required

About You

• Relevant practical experience in wine, brewing or beverage production

• Experience working in a food safety regulated environment (SALSA or BRCGS desirable)

• Understanding of process compliance, traceability and record keeping

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

• Forklift experience advantageous

• UK driving licence advantageous due to location

Physical Requirements
This hands-on role involves:

• Lifting materials of up to 25kg

• Working in confined spaces and at height

• Periods of standing and manual work

A fit for task assessment will be required as part of the recruitment process.
