To join us the successful Senior Sommelier candidate will:
· Provide charismatic, warm and engaging service with the aim to deliver a memorable experience for all our guests
· Run wine service in place of the senior team
· Assist in managing stock
· Have a love for wines & spirits and passion for developing your knowledge further
· Have equal passion for food and hospitality
· Be an excellent team player with exceptional communication skills
· Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar, fast-paced environment
· WSET 3 or equivalent an advantage
Senior Sommelier Responsibilities:
· Accurately suggest drinks to guests that best suit their style preferences and budget as well as pairing with food where required
· Drive wet revenue with suggestive sales and upselling techniques
· Ensure guests in your section always have necessary wine, water or other beverages throughout their experience
· Assist in other sections where required, once your tables are fully satisfied
· Follow opening and closing procedures as set out by management
· Run wine service in the absence of the Head and Assistant Head Sommelier by taking orders /making recommendations to guests, overseeing the sommelier team & signing off all guests bills
· Guide and support junior members of the team during service to ensure necessary standards are being met and exceeded
