Wine Cellars Assistant (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

We’re looking for a confident, knowledgeable, and customer focused Wine Cellar Assistant to support our team during large-scale events. This is a contract-based, non-permanent role, ideal for someone with a strong wine background who is available on an ad-hoc basis, primarily for evening events during the week.

You’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality wine experience, serving guests, opening bottles professionally, and supporting seamless service. You’ll also assist the senior team with wine handling and cellar organisation, ensuring back-of-house operations run as smoothly as front-of-house service.

This is a hands on, service led support role that requires a professional approach to wine and confidence in identifying corked or faulty bottles discreetly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a polished and memorable wine experience that enhances the overall guest experience.
• Open bottles professionally and correctly, maintaining consistency and confidence.
• Identify corked or faulty wines (including off aromas or spoilage in still and sparkling wines).
• Support the senior team in maintaining proper storage, temperature control, and presentation standards for all wines served.
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation in all wine-related areas.

• Previous experience in the Wine Industry, preferably within logistics, stock management and/or wine service (Certification from an accredited wine institution preferred)
• Strong familiarity with wine faults and the confidence to identify and manage them in service.
• Friendly, professional and composed under pressure, with excellent communication skills.
• A guest-first approach and a genuine passion for hospitality and creating experiences.
• A team player who’s flexible and dependable especially during evenings and weekends.
