Overview of role
Berkmann Wine Cellars is the largest family-owned and family run wine importer in the UK. We are seeking to appoint a proactive, positive and enthusiastic Sales Support Analyst on a full-time permanent basis to join our Sales Support team in Central London.
This role will support the Sales Operations Manager by assisting with key account management tasks, supporting the sales team requirements, and driving output and productivity of the department. The role also supports the sales team members by providing comprehensive administrative support.
A key focus of this role is to manipulate data from various formats and sources and prepare them for high impact PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and other visuals we present to prospects, existing customers, conferences and events. The role will be pivotal in helping to create the winning formula to maintain existing business and to win new customers. This position will play a key part in the management and resolution of customer related issues – working closely with the sales team to
rectify problems by working cross functionally with Purchasing, Marketing, Finance & IT –and
escalating where required to the Sales Operations Manager.
Duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and uploading key customer data onto the system both efficiently and accurately from the field sales teams and customers.
- Responsible for communicating product information to field sales teams and/or customer, including price changes, vintage changes and/or label changes.
- Provide the following to the field sales team as and when required:
- Formatted quote and tender documents, including printing and packaging if required.
- Provide correct information to the design team to aid the production of finished wine menus for customers in connection with Design Team.
- Provide company documentation and reports to the field sales team based on their requirements, and turn these around in a short period of time.
- Creation and design of PowerPoint, Word, PDF documents to aid the field sales teams, managers, and sales directors in the following areas;
- Sales pitch presentation to clients and key stakeholders in the business
- Price review documents and annual price change letters
- Graphic designs to drive home commercial insight and key data
- Presentations backed up solid sound commercial acumen
- Creating trends analysis and charts to show opportunity for margin development
both for internal and external stakeholders.
- Process data from various sources and convert into valuable insight and information
to create the winning formula.
- Maintain and develop client relationships within the private customer database in
conjunction with other team members.
- Maintain retro contract database and library and carry out computations when required
using information provided (in conjunction with other team members).
- Following receipt of required training, perform customer account reviews and health checks
and provide the necessary information to the field sales team.
- Provide support and training to the field sales team in constructing presentations for pitches and tenders using MS Office, in particular PowerPoint.
- Establish, maintain, and create positive working relationships with colleagues in other departments within the organisation especially the field sales team.To be proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, PIVOT), PowerPoint and design software and provide support to the field sales teams in meeting the demands of the business using these skills.
Person Specification
- Systems knowledge of CRM and ERP systems - essential
- Systems knowledge of Navision - desirable
- Excellent graphic design experience essential using various packages and PowerPoint - essential
- Excellent numerical and verbal reasoning - essential
- Excellent communication in form of written and oral formats - essential
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher) - essential
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) - essential
- Wine knowledge WSET Level 2 - desirable
Offer - The appointed candidate will become an integral part of a family business, receive a
competitive salary, company pension and 23 days annual leave rising to 24 days after 5 years’ service and 25 days after 10 years’ service). In addition you will receive exceptional training and support.
Working Pattern - This role is 37.5 hours per week (9am – 5.30pm), Monday to Friday. But it is expected that the successful candidate will work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the job
