Falcon Vintners specialises in fine and rare wines mainly but not only, from Italy and France. Falcon has established and carefully nurtured a supply network since 1995, which allows the sourcing of hard-to-find wines, often mature and of impeccable provenance.
There is an opportunity for an experienced wine sales professional to join our small, tightly knit team with the mission to expand Falcon’s presence in the on trade and retail market. Your passion for fine wine and your knowledge of purchasing channels at hotels, restaurants, event management companies and members’ clubs will allow you to drive Falcon’s sales in this market. As part of the job, visits to growers and tastings will expand your wine knowledge and keep it fresh.
Responsibilities:
• Identify new sales opportunities in hotels, restaurants, event management companies and member’s clubs as well as in the retail trade
• Devise approaches and execute plans to turn these opportunities into actual sales
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing Falcon clients
• Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activities
• Report on market conditions, customer feedback and sales performance against plan
The ideal Candidate will be:
• Passionate about wine and the wine trade
• Knowledgeable about wine, preferably to the WSET Level 3 Advanced or equivalent
• Highly experienced in developing new business in on trade wine sales
• Strongly networked in the on-trade purchasing world
• A strong communicator
• Motivated by business development and sales growth
• A self-starter - able to work in a team or independently
• Preferably (but not necessarily) proficient in a foreign language
