Oddbins is a major – and proudly quirky – wine merchant that has held a warmly-regarded place on the UK’s high streets since 1963. Oddbins is part of European Food Brokers, one of the largest drinks distributors in Europe.
This is an exciting time for Oddbins, which currently has 45 high performing stores across the UK, and is growing the business both on the high street and online.
Oddbins is expanding and a great opportunity has arisen for an Operational Support Assistant to join the company. The successful candidate will deal with requests and demands form the branches, Field Management, Head Office departments and external provider and contractors. The position would suit a highly motivated and ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a creative approach to solving problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with processing of store purchase orders and stock requests.
- Liaising with warehouse concerning order fulfillment and store logistics.
- Managing all van and courier usage in the business including London vans.
- Providing initial support and resolution of reactive store maintenance issues.
- Liaising with external contractors and 3rd party providers ensuring their obligations are fulfilled within budgets set.
- Providing general support and advice to the branches on operational matters.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Be organised and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
- Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Be numerate and able to make business decisions on a cost/benefit basis.
- Have a good working knowledge of key MS Office applications.
- Be an analytical thinker and have a creative approach to solving problems.
- Be able to establish good working relationships with people at all levels in the organisation.
