We are proud to the be the largest family owned and family run wine importer in the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Key Account Executive to join our national multiple on-trade team. This is a key ambassadorial role representing Berkmann Wine Cellars and its agencies in the National on-trade sector.  You will be a vital member of the Berkmann Family, living and breathing our company values and championing the Berkmann Wine Cellars image to all customers and producers.

This role is predominantly home and field-based, with full back-office support and a hot-desk facility in London when necessary.

 

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior National Account Manager with delivering agreed net profit, sales budgets for volume and value and agreed strategic plan at account level with the implementation and activation of marketing initiatives to improve brand visibility.
  • Through training, alongside our dedicated training team, and merchandising within the appointed outlets, strive to maximise profitably by growing sales of agency and premium wine.
  • Organise and attend regular visits to outlets to maintain relationships; solid route planning is necessary to manage over 120 sites, largely based in London.
  • Build strong business relationships within BWC departments and all management levels of the designated account base.
  • Proactive fridge and back-bar category management. Manage and interrogate customer data to ensure stock levels and sales are optimised, also provide forecasting accuracy / feedback to aid logistics where necessary.
  • Complete quarterly reports for presentations on sales analysis and marketing activation. Feedback and interpret consumer purchasing habits, brand and market intelligence. Make substantiated recommendations to drive a positive change in sales mix.

 

Skills Base, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, conviction and diplomacy. A confident ‘brand ambassador’. Outgoing and personable, able to plan and manage tastings and handle after-hour events.
  • Dedicated team player with cross-functional project management experience.
  • Strong wine knowledge and experience within the industry is essential with the ability to effectively communicate this knowledge to relevant parties. Educated to WSET Level 2 is preferable with a desire to learn more.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to respond quickly to deal with challenging situations.
  • Structured planning skills and the ability to handle a high and complex workload without supervision.
  • Analytical and numerate with good attention to detail.
  • Creative and entrepreneurial with the vision to seize and create opportunities.
  • Ability to source, interpret and capitalise on market data or trends for maximum brand benefit.
  • Must be highly computer literate, using Word, excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Working Pattern – This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and whilst the core hours are 9:00 to 17:30 there will be some evenings or weekend work required. Some events may necessitate foreign travel to vineyards, so a valid passport is necessary.
