ABOUT NEWCOMER WINES
Newcomer Wines has been at the forefront of representing some of the most forward-thinking growers in the ‘New’ Old World today. Starting from a passion project in 2014, we have been gradually expanding our Austrian expertise to (re)connect long forgotten, however culturally or historically interconnected regions like Tokaj, Alto Adige, Mosel and the Valais. Whether borrowing from, or rewriting tradition, our growers share a common purpose — to make wines that are an honest reflection of the place and the people that make them, leaving as little of an imprint on the natural world — and the wines themselves — as they go. In 2018, we partnered with Kiffe My Wines, friends who hold the same ethos as us with a speciality in French wines. Together, the Newcomer Kiffe family represents 70+ growers across 8 countries and 36 regions. Our wine bar and bottle shop has been a firm favourite of many locals and industry friends in and around Dalston / Hackney and has evolved into a place filled with one of the deepest and most eclectic selections, especially for wines from Austria, in Europe today. We currently also hold the UK Wine List of the Year Award for Austria by Star Wine List.
THE ROLE
We are looking to find a new General Manager & Wine Buyer who is interested in taking a proactive role in steering our wine bar and shop concept to the next level. The individual we are looking for must have experience in similar hospitality and or retail-related roles. This is the perfect role for someone looking to be part of a young dynamic start-up and interested in gaining a deep insight into one of the UK’s most dynamic wine importing companies.
