Business HR and Operations Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Noble Rot Restaurant & Wine Bar is located in an atmospheric townhouse on Bloomsbury’s Lamb’s Conduit Street. We are currently recruiting for an exceptional Business, HR and Operations Manager to join our team and to carry on the development and growth of the business at a new central London restaurant.

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

  • at least 2 years experience in a similar senior managerial role gained in the restaurant industry within a similar style and service of operation as Noble Rot
  • experience of opening new sites and recruiting teams,
  • ideally educated to degree level, in depth knowledge of wine, qualified to at least WSET level 3 or Diploma level
  • proven ability to lead and motivate a team of up to 40 people
  • experience in financial management, including forecasting, P&L reporting and cost controls
  • expertise in licensing and all aspects of workplace Food Hygiene and Health & Safety (minimum of Level-2 training and certification) and be a personal licence holder
  • a track record of successfully building and maintaining a well-trained team
  • an approach to the role which prioritises reliability, accountability and a sense of initiative
  • excellent communication skills and an inspiring leader who leads by example

and you will be able to:

  • apply your knowledge and experience to help analyse, improve and grow the business
  • confidently lead your team and also manage the administrative and commercial requirements of the business, dealing effectively with any challenges which may arise.

Job Responsibilties:

  • As the Business, HR and Operations Manager, you will have worked in quality-focused, food-led businesses where you have led your teams in the efficient running of the business. You’ll be able to display a strong understanding of the financial and operational keys to running a successful business.
  • You will maintain a safe, hygienic workplace by upholding company Health & Safety policy and updating policy in line with new government legislation.
  • You’ll deliver on the company HR objectives by recruitment, onboarding, coaching, scheduling, payroll and disciplining. You will also oversee the monitoring of employee performance and career development needs.
  • You must have an in-depth knowledge of wines (a WSET qualification is essential) and a genuine interest in and willingness to train others.

Salary £34,000-36,000 depending on experience
