Assistant Shop Manager for Specialist Wine Shop (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

For Full-Time staff;

• 40 hour week
• 5 days a week, Monday-Sunday with 2 days off
• Hours between 10am-9pm with a 1 hour break with any shift longer than 5 hours

We are now hiring for our brand new specialist wine shop in N1, London!

We are seeking a wine enthusiastic individual who is willing to accept responsibility and work with minimal supervision. The successful candidate should have prior experience working in a busy environment and know how to treat customers with courtesy, respect and dignity.

We offer London Living Wage + Bonus Opportunities as well as an in-shop discount for staff members. Full training will be provided to help staff become experts in our wines.

Your Responsibilities

• Be welcoming to anyone who comes into the shop
• Have excellent product knowledge of our wines and share this with our customers
• Sale and packaging of wine
• Offer advice and recommendations to help people choose the best wine according to their own budget or occasion
• Have a kind and accommodating approach to service
• Assist the Shop Manager in stock rotation, cleaning and visual merchandising
• Assist in the running of events

We are looking for...

• You must have one of the following: a recognised wine qualification, experience in recommending wine to customers, experience in winemaking
• A strong personal interest in wine is essential
• Eager to become an expert in wines from California & Oregon!
• Ideally minimum 2 years experience in a customer-facing role
• You must have the right to work in the UK

This role may suit previous Bar and Restaurant staff who have experience with wines and are looking for a role change to provide better work-life balance.
