John E Fells is widely regarded as one of the leading Premium Wine distributors in the UK and are proud to exclusively represent some of the world’s greatest family-owned Fine Wine producers.

They are seeking a Brand Manager or Senior Brand Manager to take on an important role within the Marketing team. The ideal candidate will need strong commercial skills and be comfortable working closely with the UK Sales Team, the wider Marketing team, and the Brand owners to ensure an efficient and effective strategy is agreed and implemented.

Reporting to the Head of Brand Management you will be fully immersed in all elements of managing a brand portfolio in the UK market but essentially responsible for the following:


Commercial Objectives:

The role will require you to build a strategic UK Sales and Marketing plan ensuring all brands in your portfolio meet agreed volume targets, omni-channel distribution objectives and profitability measures (A&P). All brand and channel plans must adhere to the principal’s global positioning of these brands and the company’s corporate objectives.

Principal Management:

This role is the key point of contact and conduit for all business dealings between the Winery Export team and the company. You are expected to maintain the highest level of professionalism in all dealings with our principals and ensure joint projects are managed successfully to ensure objectives are met. You will be expected to update all your principals on a quarterly basis regarding the performance of their brands in the UK marketplace.

Sales team Support:

You will work closely with the Sales Team in each channel/route to market and provide them with commercial support, product support and ambassadorial support as required.

Events:

You will be expected to attend both Consumer and Trade tastings. You will be responsible for the planning and logistics for each event and must be confident presenting your wines to both consumers and trade customers.

PR:

Developing and providing content for UK PR channels and implementing the agreed PR plan for your brands.

Social Media:

Helping develop and manage content for the company social channels ensuring brands in your portfolio are featured prominently.

Competitions:

You will manage the entries and results of the main Industry competitions IWC, DWWA, IWSC etc.

Travel:

Organising and planning the logistics around customer trips to the wineries in your brand portfolio. There would be a requirement to accompany customers on some trips – international travel will be required in this role.

Customer Contact:

You will be directly responsible for handling customer complaints and queries, responding to each individually and providing solutions to meet the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.

What we are looking for in you: -

  • A strong relationship builder at all levels and a committed team player
  • Commercial, numerate, computer literate, analytical, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A confident presenter, good communication & organisational skills
  • A basic knowledge of Wine would be advantageous as would WSET qualifications, but these are not essential.
  • Degree calibre candidate with experience in a commercial Brand Management function, this could be in Wine or other FMCG Product sectors.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Willing to travel both in the UK and abroad as required.
  • Diligent and fast-paced, willing to immerse yourself in the role, the wider business and industry.
  • A good sense of humour, enthusiastic and socially minded.
  • Creative and inspiring, keen to push ideas forward and use your initiative to the full.

John E Fells adopt a hybrid working pattern, this usually requires 3 days a week at their head office in Kings Langley. Additional travel both in the UK and abroad will be expected.
