The Wine Garden of England is a friendly collective that was created by Kent’s top wine producers with a goal of creating a world-class wine trail and visitor experience in Kent. Our producers are a group of industry pioneers, many of whom already produce award-winning wines and distribute them around the world. A unique opportunity has arisen to become part of this exciting and innovative group and to help bring the Wine Garden of England to the forefront of English Wine Tourism.
LOCATION: The position will require travel to each of the vineyards within Kent, spending two months at each in rotation, working from their offices.
REMUNERATION: £25,000 - £30,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES\ROLE
· To develop a business plan (primarily commercial) based on a vision\objectives\operating framework which would be provided by the partners.
· Implement this plan effectively once agreed, hitting targets within agreed budgets.
· Co-ordinate and organise group meetings and follow ups.
· Co-ordinate correspondence and assist in organisation of all group events
· Produce progress reports as agreed with the partners.
· Use outside agencies\ support as required (within budget)
KEY ELEMENTS OF THE PLAN
· EVENTS.
: The group will be holding four events over 2020, these will be held at Gusbourne, Hush Heath Estate, Squerryes and Chapel Down. The position will be responsible for the successful marketing, communication and co-ordination along with the host event teams. All events will have an aim to create revenue and awareness for The Wine Garden of England.
· PROPOSITION.
: Focus initially on providing dynamic info and facilitating itinerary planning.
: Consider further ways of adding value to individual producers. ( e.g. mixed cases ).
: Ensure the back end of the website allows us to transact as required.
: Develop content plan\calendar to keep it dynamic.
: Establish relevant targets to allow progress to be assessed.
: Establish appropriate ( two-way ) links with the individual partners and Visit Kent.
: Develop PR plan ( Trade & Consumer ).
: Develop Events programme ( Trade & Consumer )
: Develop Social Media Plan.
- DATABASE DEVELOPMENT\MANAGEMENT
: Set data base targets.
: Segment the database and communicate effectively with the different segments.
: Develop list of potential partners \ associates ( e.g. retailers, tourist attractions, service providers )
: Agree targets ( numbers \ revenue)
: Work closely with Visit Kent.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Some wine industry marketing experience essential.
- Marketing experience outside wine ( e.g. tourism ideal ) desirable.
- Brand building experience of luxury goods / services
- Event planning and execution
- Collaborative marketing initiative experience desirable.
- Online marketing expertise essential.
- PR\Communications expertise essential.

- Likes managing complexity.

REPORTING: To report into the 7 appointed heads of Biddenden, Chapel Down, Domaine Evremond, Gusbourne, Hush Heath Estate, Simpsons Wine Estate and Squerryes on a monthly basis at the scheduled leadership meetings.
