Harvest Cellar Hand & Harvest Winemaker (freelance) | Vintage 2026
Multiple Wineries Across Kent, East Sussex and Surrey
No two wineries. No two wines. No two days the same.
At Enologie, we don’t make just one wine in one winery.
We work alongside some of England’s most exciting vineyards and producers, helping craft wines that truly express their site, fruit and ambition. During harvest you’ll be working across multiple wineries, each with its own vineyards, equipment, challenges and winemaking philosophy.
We’re looking for both a Harvest Cellar Hand and an Experienced Harvest Winemaker to join us for Vintage 2026.
Unlike most harvest roles, you’ll experience a broad range of wineries, grape varieties, winemaking styles and production systems over a single vintage. It’s a unique opportunity to accelerate your learning while playing an important role in delivering exceptional wines for our clients.
If you’re adaptable, practical and passionate about making great wine, we’d love to hear from you.
About Enologie
Every winery is different.
As independent winemaking consultants, we work with producers across England, providing practical support from vineyard to bottle. We help clients make confident decisions that improve quality while allowing every vineyard to express its own identity.
We work with numerous small boutique producers to medium sized wineries meaning no two weeks—and certainly no two harvest days—are ever the same.
Vintage is our busiest and most exciting time of year, and we’re looking for people who enjoy responsibility, solving problems and working hard to make outstanding wines.
The Roles
Whether joining us as a Harvest Cellar Hand or an Experienced Harvest Winemaker, you’ll become part of a small, highly skilled team working at multiple wineries throughout harvest.
Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:
- Grape receival and fruit assessment
- Crushing, pressing and fruit processing
- Juice and wine transfers
- Fermentation monitoring and management
- Yeast and nutrient additions
- Pump-overs, punch-downs and cap management
- Tank, barrel and equipment preparation
- Cleaning, sanitation and winery organisation
- Sampling and basic laboratory work
- Harvest logistics between winery sites
- Working directly with winery owners and production teams
- Assisting with harvest planning and decision-making (Harvest Winemaker)
The Harvest Winemaker role will also involve taking greater responsibility for fermentation management, troubleshooting, supervising cellar operations where required and working closely with Enologie’s consultants to deliver technical support across client wineries.
Harvest is physically demanding, fast-paced and unpredictable. Expect long days, late evenings and busy weekends, and plenty of opportunities to think on your feet.
