Vineyard Assistant (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Davenport Vineyards is family-owned and the largest organic vineyard in England, growing 21 acres of vines covering 9 grape varieties at Horsmonden in Kent.  Our winery is at Rotherfield, East Sussex, where we have a further 3 acres of vines.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic person to assist with all aspects of the vineyard under the supervision of the vineyard manager. The job will involve all practical outdoor aspects of vineyard management - tractor driving, pruning, tucking in, mowing, summer canopy management, harvest etc. This is a permanent, full-time position.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for outdoor work, capable of working on their own or with a team, preferably with an interst in horticulture and wine. Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided. However, any experience with tractors and machinery or spray qualifications would be an advantage. Own transport is essential.

This is a great opportunity for the right person to gain experience in organic wine production, learn all aspects of grape growing and work with a team committed to making the very best still and sparkling English wines.
