Hatton and Edwards Fine Wine Merchants/ The London Wine Cellar
Established in 2013 we’re not your typical wine merchant; we’re a young, ambitious company transforming the way fine wine is traded. We buy and sell directly from private collectors, combining genuine passion with a fresh approach to the industry. We also manage our own client storage sites, with events and hospitality packages using our commercial kitchen, events spaces and private dining for clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone energetic, reliable, and eager to learn. No prior wine experience is required, just a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and a genuine interest in building a career in the wine world.
You’ll gain hands-on experience across every aspect of fine wine handling and logistics, with full support for your professional development, including funded WSET qualifications as you grow with us.
The Role: As a Fine Wine Cellar Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our daily operations, ensuring every bottle is handled with the care and precision it deserves. You’ll support the cellar, logistics and client storage teams with stock management, fulfilment, and storage, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming and outgoing wine shipments
- Assist with wine authentication, condition checks, and cataloguing
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient cellar and warehouse environment

What We’re Looking For
- An energetic, reliable and motivated individual with a strong work ethic
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in precision work
- Comfortable handling heavy wine cases up to 15kg (training provided)
- Eagerness to learn about fine wine and develop within the company
Desirable (but not essential)
- Interest in wine, food or luxury goods
- WSET qualification (or willingness to study – fully funded by us)
What We Offer
- Comprehensive training and career development opportunities
- Funded WSET wine education
- Weekly wine tastings
- Dynamic, progressive company culture
