Hambledon is a premium Hampshire wine estate, pioneers of English wine, located on the edge of the South Downs National Park. In 2023 it was purchased by British owned and multi-generational businesses, Symington Family Estates and Berry Bros. & Rudd.

Our ambition is to be a best-in-class hospitality-led destination in the English wine category, that feeds the soul and allows people to flourish and thrive in this beautiful part of the South Downs National Park.

The destination will offer multiple food and drink-led products, spaces for private hire for multiple occasions and a series of wine-led experiences befitting of our innovative profile in the market.

We completed the new building in December 2024, a multi-million-pound visitor centre which will be a pivotal part of our hospitality offering at Hambledon. In time we are also planning to develop a boutique accommodation offer, that will complete our guest experience.

Responsibilities:  

You’ll be at the heart of everything we do to create unforgettable guest experiences — from behind-the-scenes organisation to front-of-house hospitality. This is a hands-on, varied role that offers a fantastic introduction to the world of wine tourism and education — perfect for someone looking to grow their career in wine or hospitality.

Main Duties:

o   Set the stage for WSET wine courses – setting up materials, glassware, and ensuring everything’s ready to go

o   Support the flow – helping with admin and logistics so educational events run without a hitch

o   Create the magic in our tasting rooms – pour samples, welcome guests, and help deliver a seamless, memorable experience

o   Keep it sparkling – making sure our tasting areas are clean, tidy, and always ready for the next group

o   Track what’s poured – record wine samples used and manage fridge stock so nothing runs dry

o   Hit the road – join our team at off-site events and festivals, spreading the Hambledon story

o   Keep things current – update our website with the latest experiences and events

 

 

Who We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who’s reliable, enthusiastic, and ready to muck in. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A sharp eye for detail and a can-do attitude
• Confidence working independently and juggling multiple tasks
• WSET Level 2 (or currently working towards it) – desirable but not essential
• Excellent English communication skills
• A genuine interest in English wine and a love for learning new things
• Due to being located in a rural area, a driving licence is required
