Wine Tour & Event Assistant

Hambledon Vineyard is looking for a part time but long-term Wine Tour & Event Assistant. Representing our brand and educating the visitors in a knowledgeable and friendly way are of utmost importance. The role is primarily weekend based to support the Tour and Education Manager and the Events Manager. The candidate will be expected to work ad-hoc daytime and or evening hours over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday at a £10 an hour rate, however, hours during the week could be required in line with evening functions, so flexibility is key. Training on all aspects of the job will be provided for the correct candidate.

Reporting to the Event Manager, the candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Hosting and engaging with public and private wine tours, wine tastings and events
  • Assisting with the organisation of tours, events and tastings as required
  • Processing sales including till and cash responsibilities & invoicing
  • Representing Hambledon at both on-site and off-site consumer and trade events
  • Serving food, drinks and general hospitality including setting up, clearing down and light cleaning and tidying on site and off site as required.
  • Using computers, including Microsoft office suite to assist in the day-to-day office administration
  • Delivering stock as and when necessary.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects as directed by the Managing Director or Managers within the business.

What we are looking for:

  • A wine enthusiast, WSET Level 2 
  • Confidence in hosting large groups of people
  • Experience in customer service and sales
  • An all-rounder and hands-on person
  • Friendly and welcoming
  • A responsible personality
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Must be over 18 years of age and eligible to work in the UK
  • Full driving licence required
