JOB DESCRIPTION: Post production manager

JOB TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY: 32k (40h/week) + flat rate unlimited overtime at harvest and bottling

REPORTING TO: the Winemakers  

WORKING WITH: Cellar assistants and seasonal staff

 

OBJECTIVES OF ROLE:  Leading the day to day operations in the cellar for the Hambledon wine and for the Hambledon contract winemaking customers. Ensuring the quality of all post production procedures. Making sure all deadlines are kept for all post production procedures. Keeping the records for all post production procedures. Building and training a post production team as the company grows. Leading the grape reception team at harvest.

 

Day to day operations including:

·         Riddling (loading cages and loading the riddling machine)

·         Disgorging

·         Labelling by machine or by hand

·         Stacking bottles

·         Receptions of dry goods; upkeep of dry goods; inventory of dry goods

·         Dispatch of orders

·         Keeping the equipment clean and the cellar tidy

·         Making sure the workplace is a safe working environment.

·         Maintain appropriate records according to the winemakers instructions

·         Leading the reception team at Harvest and bottling

·         Helping the stock manager with the stock inventory

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

·         Good level of spoken and written English 

·         Relevant Wine degree will be favourably considered 

·         Previous experience in a winery and cellar  

·         Forklift licence  

·         Driving licence 

·         Experience of running a disgorging line 

·         Experience of labelling machines

·         Problem solving

·         Ability to work long hours, night shifts and weekends when required

·         Ability to lift 20kg
