STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

To provide an exceptional customer service for Bolney Wine Estate through effective and relevant communication in the tour, retail environment and tasting product.

To act as an ambassador for Bolney Wine Estate at all times.

To demonstrate a flexible approach to varying the tour dependent on the size, nature of the group, conditions within the estate and in varying weather conditions.

By being well presented at all times and offer a warm and open welcome to all visitors to Bolney Wine Estate.

To establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and departments throughout Bolney Wine Estate.

To promote and effectively sell our wines to achieve retail targets.

Understand and meet guest needs; anticipate/exceed guest expectations.

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Conduct tours of Bolney Wine Estate to the specification provided. Understanding the history of Bolney, current practices and providing a brief in the estates health and safety.

Responsible for all customer enquiries including providing information on our product range

Retail sales to visitors on tours and in the shop, including Bolney Wine Estate Wine and other products– assisting the retail manager when required with in-shop tastings, advising customers, and general sales.

Conduct a tutored tasting of our wines including masterclasses.

Retail sales to visitors including Bolney Wine Estate Wine and other products as sold in the shop.

Observe customers behaviour and feedback to line managers on ways the customer experience could be improved.

Set up and clear down all areas usedin order to deliver the tour as specified at the start and end of each tour.

Shop maintenance including tidying, stocking up and promotional displays.

Aid visitors in the event of an emergency, following instructions from the line manager at the time.

To assist in the café as and when required and under direction of the café manager.

To take on a ‘hostess’ role for any events that require it and for the café/shop and wine bat when covering it. Make sure guests feel welcome and be there to assist if required.

To be flexible with hours, working evenings and weekend days at least twice per week.

Promotion of events and tours where necessary.

Attend outside events on behalf of Bolney Wine Estate as required.

Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Retail Manager or the Managing Director of Bolney Wine Estate.

Hours:

Friday: 5-11pm

Saturday 9 – 5pm

Sunday   9 – 5pm

 

Required:

•    Drivers License

• 1+ year prior experience in retail sales or as a sommelier (Desirable).
• A confident outlook when dealing with customers face to face and a can do attitude.
• WSET Advanced Level Three (Desirable)
• Strong communication skills. Sound computer skills to use our retail POS system, Word, Excel, internet and email.
• The ability to regularly lift cases of wine weighing up to 18 kilograms when merchandising in shop or carrying customer purchases to their cars.
