Bolney Wine Estate is looking for cellar hands to join our team for the 2018 vintage, with the possibility of a permanent  position following harvest.

Harvest is expected to start mid-September,  and run for around 5 weeks. Candidates must be prepared to work long days and weekends. For the majority of the vintage we operate a shift system, and you would be required to join either the early or late shift during this time. Good fitness, attention to detail and the ability to maintain concentration over a long shift are all valuable attributes.

Tasks will include (but are not limited to):

·         Grape sorting

·         Press loading and cleaning

·         Punch down/pump-over of red ferments

·         Digging out of red tanks

·         Racking of juice, additions and inoculations

·         Cleaning and sanitation of winery equipment

·         General maintenance of cellar hygiene standards

·         Grape maturity analysis & ferment monitoring

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in cool climate winemaking, making a diverse range of wine styles. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to continue in a permanent cellar hand position.

 Salary will be based on experience.  Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
