Commercial Sales Manager - Petworth, West Sussex 

Job Role & Responsibilities


Roebuck Estates are looking for a talented and experienced Commercial Sales Manager to lead export sales and new business development with off-trade and on-trade accounts to introduce Roebuck Estates’ award winning English sparkling wines across the world. We need a self-motivated professional with proven wine industry sales and marketing experience and an outstanding track record of winning successful listings with high-profile accounts. In this position, you will be responsible for meeting the Company’s annual sales targets across multiple channels to pre-assigned accounts and market segments in the UK and overseas.

Your duties will include building out distribution in export markets alongside new business creation domestically, with a focus on developing long lasting and mutually beneficial relationships, and helping to support business in channels including but not limited to hotel groups, Michelin-starred venues, partnering with event organisers appropriate for Roebuck Estates' premium brands, arranging for sponsorships of sporting and social occasions and assessing costs and competition..

In addition to being an excellent communicator, an ideal candidate will have strong influencer skills, high energy and drive, an extensive knowledge and an established network of industry contacts, including UK based wine, beer and spirits brand owners, marketing decision makers and drinks industry figures.  They will also have first-class customer relationship skillsets and will be able to demonstrate proven exceptional negotiation and leadership skills, with a track record of generating new business sales.


·         Provide partners and clients with excellent levels of support and service.

  • Implement strategic plans to reach sales targets in specific markets and channels.
  • Deliver account management and growth plans across a variety of sectors.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with export customers to build brand knowledge and increase customer loyalty.
  • Deliver creative marketing solutions, tastings and customer focused marketing events to drive brand engagement
  • Work with key partners to understand their business needs and goals for key partnerships.
  • Secure and leverage large scale sponsorship opportunities to drive brand awareness and volume sales (e.g. Wimbledon, Goodwood, Royal Ascot, Polo in the Park, O2 Arena, Formula 1 Paddock Club, Glyndebourne, Covent Garden Opera House, Henley, Cowes Regattas, UK Government, Royal Family patronages, etc). 
  • Create and deliver sales pitches and tender documents where required.



·         Bachelor’s degree (preferably in marketing, business administration or a relevant field).

·         Diploma (Level 4) Wine and Spirits (WSET) – preferred not essential

·         A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

·         Capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines.

·         Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.

·         Full right to work in the UK and a full drivers license (due to rural location)

·         Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
