Reporting to the Head of Wines & Spirits, you will have ownership in achievement of the region's annual wine & spirits volume and profit budget, by providing specialist sales training and customer support to the sales force, along with proactively targeting New and Incremental Business.
Managing a core group of circa 50 key high volume/margin Wine & Spirit accounts, you will liaise with the Sales Teams, Customer Contact Centre and Third Party Suppliers in order to identify potential outlets to target, call on and open new wine and spirits accounts.
Key Accountabilities:
- To be accountable for driving and delivering the total Third Party Brand performance on the region
- Responsible for delivering the profitability and volume of wines and spirit sales within the region including a group of key W&S customers.
- To provide ongoing training to the existing sales force and new starters via 1-2-1 training, days in trade, wine tastings, spirits sessions and briefings at team meetings.
- Provide effective commercial training to key customers along with WSET course training as required and qualified
- Improve category penetration across the sales region in line with business objectives
- Identify all areas where customers, margin and opportunity are being lost and provide effective and urgent solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with Third Party Suppliers to utilise their support for customers.
- Formulate drinks lists for own key accounts, provide expertise, consultancy and oversee production of the region’s drive lists on a timely basis and within the regional budget.
- Take responsibility for organising, co-coordinating and hosting European wine trips, tasting sessions, gourmet evenings, wine launches, and specific hospitality in conjunction with Third Party suppliers and internal wine team.
Experience and Key Attributes required:
- Sales experience in the FMCG/Drinks Industry
- WSET Advanced/Level 3 (or willing to work towards)
- Strong communications skills
- Commercial acumen
- Analytical, with strong coaching and influencing skills
- People / Team management skills
