Vineyard Operative
Exton Park Vineyard is a 60-acre chalk vineyard in the Meon valley, near Winchester, Hampshire. We grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for sparkling wine production. We have an onsite winery where we process all our own grapes. The vineyard is mechanised sufficiently to allow for a team of 3 people to work the vineyard, with seasonal staff helping us out for the big hands-on jobs. The vineyard team works closely with the winery to ensure the grapes that are grown are up to standard for our wine. We produce around 70,000 bottles of Reserve Blend wine per year. The candidate will be asked to contribute to ideas of day-to-day processes. We actively encourage new ideas and experiment in the vineyard where possible. There will be optunities for educational wine tastings with Exton Park wines. This is an exciting opportunity for the correct candidate to join a forward-thinking vineyard team.
Opportunity for a Crop Technician, Viticultural Apprenticeship with Plumpton College
Exton Park Vineyard is prepared for the correct candidate to partake in Plumpton College apprenticeship viticultural course as well as work full time on Exton Park Vineyard.
The apprenticeship is a two year course, based in East Sussex. The candidate would be required to attend 5 residential training blocks per year, each of 1 week duration, which is included with the full-time position at Exton Park Vineyard.

Key Responsibilities Vineyard Operative
- Tractor driving (experience essential).
- Tractor operations: mowing, leaf trimming, leaf removal, air assisted spraying, boom sprays, and mulching, organisation of our machinery and equipment.
- Site maintenance: headlands, borders. Vineyard trellis repairs/maintenance. Strimming work. General estate maintenance.
- Some seasonal evening/night work will be required.
- Vineyard Work – pruning, tying down, bud rub, canopy management,
- Harvest – tractor and trailer work, supervising extra staff.
Job Requirements
- Record Keeping – stock control, vineyard data collection.
- Full right to work in the UK.
- Good English, verbal, and written communication skills. Some computer skills required.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Full driving license mandatory.
- Forklift licence would be favourable.
- All relevant PA1-3 spray qualifications would be a bonus. although training will be given to the right candidate.
We are seeking a hands-on candidate that is happy to work by themselves but also with a team. A vast percentage of the time the job will be outside, all year round. We are a small team at Exon Park, our aim is always to produce high quality fruit. There will be times where we will be helping the winery, bottling, disgorgement, and labelling.
