About us:
Exton Park Vineyard is a 60-acre chalk vineyard in the Meon valley, near Winchester, Hampshire. We grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for sparkling wine production and have an onsite winery where we process all our own grapes, from harvesting through to bottling, disgorging and labelling.
Our signature style is our Reserve Blend range which draws on our 10-year library of reserve wines that we have curated and stored in our winery at Exton Park since 2011. This unique approach sets a new standard for contemporary winemaking. We guarantee excellence in every bottle, year after year.
About the role:
The cellar hand will work under the guidance of the Assistant Winemaker, with a direct line report to the Head Winemaker. The majority of the role is hands-on with key tasks including:
· Assisting the winery team with pressings, transfers, filtering, bottling, riddling, disgorging, labelling and packaging operations.
· Maintaining accurate records of winery work
· Ensuring high standards of cleanliness of both equipment and work space within the winery
· Following health & safety policies at all times
About you:
You will have an interest in the production of wine and be keen to develop new skills. With existing good organisational and communication skills, you will be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a small team. Paying attention to detail you will strive to maintain the quality of our wines and presentation of the finished product. You will be organised, able to multi-task and show excellent time management skills. You will be comfortable with physical work and confident with climbing ladders and working at heights. Due to the rural location of the vineyard you will need to have your own transport. Experience of working in a winery would be useful but is not essential.
