McNeill Vineyard Management Ltd provides a contract management service to multiple clients covering approximately 200 acres of vineyards in the Maldon district of Essex. The expanding client base and area under management requires an Operations Manager to oversee the delivery of service.
The Operations Manager will oversee the day to day running of all work carried out on the vineyards throughout the course of the year.
Vineyard management methods are ultimately decided by the company Director, who will provide the Operations Manager will all necessary material resources and strategical assistance.
A vehicle, office and computer are provided for work use.
Reporting to: Duncan McNeill, Company Director / Head Of Viticulture
Status: Full time. Permanent
Probationary Period: 6 months, in order for both parties to decide if the employee is suited to the role.
Hours:
8am – 4:30pm (longer hours and weekend work may be required in summertime in order to complete certain work tasks)
Pay: Salaried. Dependent on experience
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days per year (including statutory holidays and bank holidays). Holiday to be taken at times agreed with the employer
Start Date: Immediate
Roles, Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Implementation of all works as set out by Head Of Viticulture
- Distribution of workload to the team of machinery operators
- Operation of vineyard tractors and machinery when necessary
- Implementation of maintenance and safety protocols for all machinery
- Management of all logistics involved in vineyard operations on multiple vineyard sites within the Maldon district. All vineyards are within a 10 mile radius
- Minimum 5 years experience in the operation of agricultural / horticultural machinery.
- Close liaison with Machinery Manager , with the aim of maintaining good upkeep of all machinery, hand tools and workshop.
- Full Drivers licence
- Own accommodation
- Own transport to work. (Vehicle provided for work use)
