We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to come on board and support our existing team. We have a strong management foundation, but we have a missing piece to the puzzle, and that could be you!
The Ten bells is more than a pub, it's an East London institution and renowned historical landmark. The Building was erected in the 18th century and has been a multitude of things (including a victorian coroners office) but has been trading as a pub since 1755. She’s a grade 1 listed building, most famously closely linked with the Jack the Ripper murders as well as a colourful history of other gruesome crimes throughout the years.
As you can imagine this attracts quite the tourism trade as well as a loyal local office trade, this keeps us busy daily!
As of June 2024 our new owners London Beer Factory have taken over the Ten Bells and revived her with a new life. A new and improved beer line up and strong management. The London Beer Factory prides itself on making beer full of flavour, for places full of life and an inclusive environment for all.
At The Ten Bells we have created a unique beer selection where local breweries and bigger brands can be enjoyed alongside a thoughtful and seasonally inspired cocktail menu created by staff and enjoyed in a welcoming environment.
As our Assistant Manger you will be a confident team leader, experienced in supporting others. Assertive in managing a bar and all its moving cogs as well as driving to give your guests the very best standards and customer service.
You will be used to managing a high volume wet led venue and have experience within a multi room, multi occasion businesses. Be confident in all things beer cellar and manual handling.

A flavour of the AGM Role…
Deliver exceptional guests experiences through amazing drinks, charming service in a traditional pub environment.
Be part of a management team working together to ensure that all areas of the business operate during trading hours to our standards.
Improving the overall guest experience by providing new ideas, executing them and analysing their outcome based on BOH reports.
Help in the creation of new and exciting drinks for specials and seasonal menus throughout the year.
Manage the stocks from ordering, invoicing and performance reporting, and thus using the reporting to make improvements through service and drive GP’s
Ensuring that high levels of hygiene are constantly adhered to on a daily basis to conform with EHO and company requirements.
Deliver training to the staff on all matters regarding the beer and other bar products being offered.
Work closely with the GM in helping control costs and grow the EBITDA for the venue.
Dealing with feedback and complaints, resolving the matter and creating actions to ensure the situation doesn’t arise again.
Assist in recruiting amazing people to join the team to not only help service but enrich the environment and guest experience.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry is essential, minimum 1 year in the role.
- Ideally already have a personal license or received training equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of bartending practices, craft beer and cocktails.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills.
- Previous experience in hotel management or similar environments is an advantage.
