Established in 2018, Wine Down is an independent wine merchant and wine bar/restaurant based in the Isle of Man, where life is currently ‘normal’. There is no social distancing, no masks and all businesses are trading as normal.

The role
Due to an expansion in June 2020, we now seek an enthusiastic and knowledgeable manager to manage the retail side of the business.
This is a varied role as it is a hybrid business and experience in hospitality will be an advantage.
Key responsiblities
Customer service - extensive wine knowledge and the ability to communicate this to our customers both in the shop and restaurant.
Assisting with buying - tastings and supplier visits
Receiving deliveries and stock control
Hosting wine tastings - from in-store to corporate events
Personal qualities
Well organised with attention to detail.
An ability to discuss and advise on wines from around the world at all levels.
Reliable, punctual, enthusiastic, hardworking and passionate about wine and premium spirits
A team player with a good sense of humour
Qualifications and experience
Minimum WSET Level 2 - essential
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar environment - essential
Computer literate, especially in Word and Excel - essential
Full clean driving license - essential
Physically fit - pallets need unloading every week
Experience with social media marketing - desirable
Knowledge of website management - desirable
This is an opportunity for the right person to get involved in every aspect of the business and to run it as their own.
Salary between £25,000 to £33,000 dependent on experience.

20 days holiday plus extra days at Christmas and New Year.
