Sorrel, a Michelin Starred restaurant with 4 AA Rosettes, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Sommelier to join our exceptional team. Established in 2017 by Chef Patron Alex Payne, Sorrel offers an intimate, modern fine dining experience with just 40 covers across 15 tables. We pride ourselves on delivering a memorable journey for every guest, and we are looking for individuals who share our passion for excellence and service.
What We Offer:

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of service, ensuring that guests have an unforgettable dining experience.
- Serve all guests with professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail.
- Understand and deliver the Sorrel identity, with strong knowledge of our food and beverage offerings.
- Adhere to all opening and closing procedures, ensuring the restaurant is set up and closed down efficiently.
- Assist with cleaning and preparation duties as part of the team.
- Maintain high standards of presentation, etiquette, and respect at all times.
- Keep up-to-date with allergen legislation and dietary requirements to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our guests.
Ideal Candidate:
- A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude with a passion for service.
- Proactive and eager to learn and develop.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong timekeeping and respect for the demands of a high-end restaurant environment.
- Previous experience in a fine dining setting is desirable but not essential. We value personality, drive, and character above all else and offer comprehensive training for the right candidate.
Additional Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK (only applicants with this will be considered).
- Own transport required due to the location of the restaurant.
- Fixed term contract.
