Itasca Wines is looking for another full-time Cellar Hand to join its team in Hampshire. With a 650T state of the art winery, fully equipped lab and high-speed disgorging line, Itasca has a world class facility in a beautiful location, with a second winery being built in Essex in time for 2026 harvest.
The Role
- Assist the Operations Winemaker in the production of both own label and contract client wines
- Where necessary, assist the Head of Production with post-production operations including disgorging, bottling, labelling, packaging and warehousing
- Work harvest day shift or night shift
- Maintain a high standard of work in all aspects of the winery's operations
- Maintenance and repair of winery equipment
- Reasonable maintenance and repair of the winery building and grounds
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the facility and equipment
- Grape sampling and maturity analysis
- Adhere to and help enforce winery SOPs and winery handbook
- Maintain a high level of Heath & Safety standards
- Represent the winery at public and trade events as required
- Other reasonable duties may be assigned
About you
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Team player with the drive to take on tasks and hit the ground running
- Counter-balance forklift license desirable
- Ability to lift up to 25kg
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Wine knowledge
- Previous winemaking and/or harvest experience desirable
About us
Itasca wines has a state of the art winemaking facility on the Hampshire/Surrey border making wines under the Penn Croft brand and offering contract winemaking, disgorging and packaging services as well as distribution of Enartis products in the UK. On our own site we practice Regenerative Agriculture, one of only a handful of vineyards in Europe to work to these principles. We also believe we have built one of the most sustainable wineries in the world, with solar power and a full wastewater wetland all on site. You will be involved in the production of a range of quality focused wines including still and sparkling from vineyards stretching from Essex to Cornwall.
Salary
Commensurate with experience. Training is offered where necessary.
