About the role and location

We have an opportunity for a Pricing & Promotions Manager to join our Commercial Finance team on a 6 month fixed term basis at The Park site close to the M5 near Bristol, with free parking on site.

About the role – Key Accountabilities

You will be the system guardian of the entire Demantra promotions system and drive the future improvement and implementation of the system and own the Advanced Pricing module of JDE with a view to implementing improvements to the Accolade pricing architecture. You will build strong relationships with internal and external customers and will have responsibility for the pricing and promotions administration and team. You will also be responsible for the monitoring and controlling of SG&A expenses for Commercial Europe and the management accounting and decision support relating to the Other Wholesale sales channel.

  • Manage the team responsible for pricing and promotions to oversee the correct administration of the Pricing and Promotions systems and ensure accruals are created and matched effectively in line with procedure
  • Ensure the Commercial teams are operating Demantra effectively & ensuring adherence to process
  • Enforce compliance for internal & external audit processes to ensure complete and accurate Promotional Accruals and other Commercial Europe requirements 
  • Drive pre & post evaluation of promotions to generate a bank of information to help drive the Demantra system in improved use of promotional spends
  • Investigate large vulture claims as required and liaise with customer auditors in order to mitigate claims
  • Manage and produce reports for all pricing and promotions related requirements 
  • Monitor, control & report on the SG&A expenses for the Commercial Europe business
  • Produce monthly analysis and commentary on the Other Wholesale channel’s performance and provided the financial input required to help them drive the short and long term objectives using internal and external data. 
  • Co-ordinate and deliver budgets and forecasts for the Other Wholesale channel and SG&A expenses 
  • Produce monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations for Promotions and Bad Debt Provision, investigating any variances to keep them to a minimum
  • Coach Pricing & Promotions Analysts through initial finance qualifications, embed a culture of commercial analytics rather than simple administration in to their role & prepare high-flyers to transition to full Finance Analysts
  • Projects as required by Finance Director - Europe

About you

  • You will be an AAT qualified (or equivalent) excellent communicator with a high level of commercial acumen. You will be highly skilled in decision making, planning and prioritisation with a high level of attention to detail and a customer obsession.
  • Ideally you will have 5+ years within a finance department , preferably with experience in systems implementation, promotional spend accruals and pricing and able to interact with systems ( JDE / Demantra / Cognos )
  • You will have the flexibility to work out of office hours to accommodate the occasional call with our Australian colleagues and have the ability to travel to our office in Weybridge,  if required.
