In this role

Accolade Wines is implementing a new operating model and establishing a function of Global Business Services (GBS). This function will accountable for Operational Business and IT Services, Project Services, Information Security and will support the strategic roadmap of the company through both implementation and innovation of digital and human services.

This role will lead the Business Process Operations function and ensure that the operational services and strategic roadmap aligns with and supports the operational performance and strategic direction of the business.

Reporting into the Head of Global Business Services, this role will have a team of direct and indirect reports to lead and can be based at any of our global locations. 

Key accountabilities include


  • Lead and develop the Business Process Operations team, comprising both internal and external resources, maximising the potential of our people
  • Establish and manage on ongoing budget of approximately AU$5M per year
  • Exercise appropriate governance, ensuring the team and services meet agreed compliance obligations at all times
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders


  • Provide input to the Head of GBS to plan and formulate GBS policy to meet the current and future needs of the business
  • Ensure the structure, direction and performance of Business Process Operations is aligned with the overall business requirements and strategic roadmap.
  • Create and promote business opportunity within Accolade Wines for the use of innovative technology, processes and partners across Business Process Operations
  • Establish and manage 3rd party partner relationships strategically to delivery ongoing benefit


  • Execute the transformation from current state to target operating model with respect to Business Process Operations, meeting financial, timing and quality requirements
  • Ensure there are no major operational disruptions as a result of the transformation
  • Identify and manage risks and issues associated with the transformation
  • Manage and communicate with all relevant stakeholders


  • Ensure all services are delivered to agreed KPI’s and SLA’s
  • Ensure all projects are delivered according to the agreed success criteria, delivering the agreed ongoing benefits
  • Deliver year on year productivity improvements
  • Meet all regulatory and audit compliance requirements
  • Report and communicate all relevant information in accordance with the governance framework or stakeholder requirements as agreed
  • Act as a point of escalation for all Business Process issues, and initiate appropriate remediation steps

Essential knowledge and skills are

  • Strong people leadership capabilities
  • Good business and technology acumen
  • Good understanding of both Business Process services in an operational environment
  • Ability to create a vision and execute using organisational change and transformation skills
  • Ability to manage operating budgets, with strong financial planning ability
  • Knowledge of outsource relationships and contracts

Required experience is

  • Extensive experience in leading relevant business functions, preferably in an operational context
  • Experience in developing strategic plans with demonstrable business benefits
  • Experience in leading organisational change and transformation initiatives
  • Experience in managing outsource partners
  • Management of budgets
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering under pressure in ambiguous environments

Essential qualifications are

  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar qualification in business administration or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated Management experience in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated experience in a wine marketing and manufacturing or similar environment
  • High level of business acumen and strategic project management

Physical and other requirements

  • Willingness to travel is essential and work across international timezones
