We have 2 vacancies for Bulk Wine & Blending Operatives to join our team at our Accolade Park site in Bristol which employs over 500 people. Our Bristol site houses the largest bottling plant in the Northern Hemisphere bottling up to 1 million bottles of wine per day. It’s an exciting time to join us as we are investing £3 million into our Bristol site and have some exciting and innovative projects underway.

About the role

This is a varied and interesting role. You will be a key member of a multi-disciplined working closely with other teams to ensure the availability of bulk wine. You will be accountable for the quality of our product and will also assist in achieving continuous improvement.  You will liaise closely with internal teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Scheduling and Packaging. You’ll plan and prepare our bulk wine storage tanks and equipment to receive wines and process blended liquids to meet our packaging plan whilst minimising waste. You’ll manage your day with full autonomy and no two days are the same. You’ll be there from the day our wine arrives at our site, tasting and analysing our wine before releasing it for bottling.

You’ll be part of a busy and fun team with the opportunity to work across the whole of our site. We’ll even train you to taste and appreciate our wine. This role works on shift patterns including nights and weekends. This role reports into our Bulk Wine and Blending manager and your responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with logistics over the scheduling of wines in line with the availability of tanks
  • Communication with the packaging and technical departments over the availability of wine
  • Operating assigned equipment and plant ensuring optimum performance
  • Responsibility for all quality standards and testing of the product
  • Supporting the team leader and working towards team objectives
  • Identifying and assisting in the rectification of running faults with machinery
  • Ensuring that equipment is maintained and serviced to continually improve performance
  • Willingness to assist other teams or Operatives
  • Entering relevant data into business system interfaces

About you

Ideally, you’ll have a background in FMCG and experience in manufacturing and will have technical experience operating equipment and updating relevant IT systems.  You’ll be hands on and like getting stuck in and be familiar with working in a LEAN environment in addition to compliance with Health and Safety requirements.

You will always look for a better way to do something and won’t be afraid to share your thoughts and ideas.  

You’ll enjoy working in an industrial and noisy workplace and working on shift patterns and the flexibility this offers.  You’ll be great at developing relationships with you team members and colleagues in other teams.

A background in wine is not essential, we’ll place you on a WSET course to improve your wine tasting skills. You’ll enjoy the challenge this role provides and thrive working in a fast paced and changing environment. We are a multi award winning company and like us you will have a passion for wine.
