Vacancy overview:
We are looking to recruit the next exceptional member of our Supply Chain and Customer Service Team. We require someone to assist with the inbound stock requirements of an increasingly dynamic and fast-moving business and take responsibility for the timely and accurate outbound supply chain. This demands excellent customer service to our varied customer base, ranging from national grocers, to small, independent wholesalers. This role is vital to the continued growth of Hatch Mansfield, and to enable us to provide our customers the best possible service.
About us:
Hatch Mansfield is a UK specialist agent in premium wines made by independent, family-owned wine producers. We were established in 1994 with Louis Jadot, Errazuriz and Villa Maria, and today represent 17 internationally acclaimed wine companies with a 57-strong team, including 3 Masters of Wine (MW).
Duties and responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Supply Planning Manager with a view to taking on the sole day-to-day inbound supply chain responsibilities for a number of brands;
- Take responsibility for general EDI operations;
- Develop relationships with the Brand, Sales, and Commercial teams to ensure forecasting and planning remains at the forefront of what you do;
- Provide assistance to the Stock Planning Manager and Commercial Team with the UK Pack element of the Hatch portfolio. This may be in forecasting, bottling, labelling, pricing, and onward distribution;
- Provide support to the Customer Services team, to quickly deal with any issues around the supply chain whilst communicating clearly current position and future actions across the whole business;
- Take appropriate action to resolve issues raised by the logistics of shipping wine across the world in the C21st- post Brexit/COVID-19 environment;
- Work closely with our third-party Logistics providers;
- Develop a set of KPI’s for our Logistics suppliers e.g. Freight forwarders/shippers which can be reviewed at regular intervals;
- Gain a full understanding of our Defacto ERP stock and finance solution;
- Understanding price lists, product creation, product attributes, coding and the link between Defacto, our EDI system (True Commerce) and our ordering link into London City Bond (Vision Software);
- Other responsibilities will develop over time.
Key attributes:
- Stock management experience – ideally in the drinks industry or luxury brand environment;
- Exceptional customer service credentials;
- Numerate and IT literate – unafraid to embrace technology;
- Experience with EDI ordering/invoicing systems preferred;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Outstanding communication skills – you must be capable of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders along the supply chain;
- Proactive problem solver;
- Flexible, can-do approach with a willingness to adapt and work with other areas of the business;
- Interest in wine.
Education and experience required:
You must be educated to Degree level and have strong experience of managing external suppliers within transport and warehousing. You must also have excellent IT skills, with knowledge of EDI software a plus. Wine trade experience and qualifications are preferred but not essential. Any French, Spanish, or Italian language skills are also beneficial but not required.
Hours of Work:
9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Additional hours will also be required outside of these hours on an ad hoc basis, along with some travel requirements.
A competitive salary dependent on experience, plus annual performance-based bonus, pension, life insurance, private health and PHI all provided.
