About us

Ludo's is a Fine Food, Deli and Wine Merchant open 7 days a week on one of the most vibrant area of South Manchester: Beech Road. We are all about sharing our love for good food and good drinks!

We are looking for a full time Sales Assistant to join our team at our Wine Shop / Deli on Beech Road in Chorlton. The ideal candidate will have some retail experience, ideally in the food and drinks industry. We are open to applicants who may not have experience but are willing to learn. Passion for food is essential.

We are looking for hard working team players with excellent customer service skills, people who share our passion for food and drink and have the drive to help us push the business forward, bringing in new ideas, and enthusiasm for our products and service.

Role includes greeting and serving customers, merchandising, promoting the shop and its products, placing orders and sorting deliveries, stock rotation. The right candidate is expected to quickly progress in to a position with key holder responsibilities (opening / closing the shop and cashing up).

Candidates must be flexible, and able to work any shift (normally 8 hour working shifts) between the hours of 6am - 9.30pm, including weekends.

Job Duties:

• Greeting and serving customers
• Preparing and baking bread and pastries
• Assisting customers with their purchases and providing product knowledge, with particular focus on wine, beers and spirits
• Product sampling
• Stock control and replenishment
• Placing Orders, Receiving deliveries and completing paperwork required
• Merchandising and promoting the shop through Social Media
• General cleaning

Qualifications/ Experience:

• Previous retail experience is definitely desirable, preferably in the food and wine industry
• At least two years customer service experience
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
• A real passion for excellent customer service
• An enthusiasm for retailing, ideally in the food and drink industry
• A keen interest in developing a career within the food retail sector
• Key holder/supervisory experience desirable
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

• 40hr Full-time Contract (5 days per week)

Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour
