Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa is a luxury 5* hotel that operates like a house and feels like a home. We are looking for a Head Sommelier who will wow our guests and can demonstrate:
- A very strong background working ideally as Head Sommelier in a Michelin setting
- Impeccable guest service skills with a background of exceeding guest expectations
- A passion for great wines accompanied by an appetite to build and share knowledge
- As Head Sommelier, you will understand the workings of a well managed cellar and demonstrate the highest attention to detail - you will be highly organised
- Proven experience as Head Sommelier with a very strong understanding of wine pairing
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English
- An engaging personality with a flair for communication at all levels
- Immaculate personal presentation
- WSET or equivalent qualifications
Our Head Sommelier will work as a key member of our Food and Beverage team, leading and developing the bar team to maximise sales across all of our outlets and coaching and up-skilling the food service team to develop their understanding of wine and beverage.
