DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an exceptional Sommelier to join the Fera at Claridge’s team. Our colleagues possess an intuitive service style that reflects the elegance and timelessness that has been long established in Claridge’s.
Our emphasis on scarce artisanal wines along with the diversity of regions, native grape varieties, styles of winemaking and mature vintages differentiates us.
Inspired by the rhythm of the seasons, Michelin-starred Fera at Claridge's brings a creative and natural approach to contemporary British cuisine. At Fera – which means 'wild' in Latin – the finest seasonal ingredients are transformed with instinct and imagination into à la carte and tasting menus that capture the essence of nature. Likewise, our talented sommelier team chooses wines that are grown in the most natural way, shaped by their terroir.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Sommelier you will be responsible for:
• Creating renowned memorable experiences for all our guests.
• Supporting the Senior Sommeliers and Head Sommelier before and during service.
• Creating genuine emotional bonds with guests, in order to build loyalty and create exceptional service experiences.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates for our Sommelier opportunity will:
• Have a good knowledge of wines, spirits and food, and want to develop knowledge in order to understand one of the most complicated wine lists in London.
• Appreciate and respect a more artisan way of producing wine, want to learn more about unusual production methods, appellations and grape varieties.
• Provide intuitive service, with absolute understanding of our guests needs to create exceptional service experiences, that result in lasting memories.
• Demonstrate genuine dedication to Fera at Claridge’s and show a commitment to consistent quality in our product and service.
• Be a team player who is an avid learner, adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
