Locations: Liverpool Street and Borough Market Deadline: 28/10/2016 About Wine Pantry Wine Pantry opened five years ago, specialising in English wines: offering sampling and tasting sessions out of a tiny unit in Borough Market. 8 Devonshire Row We have recently taken over 8 Devonshire Row, Liverpool Street, EC2M 4RH, where we operate as a bar, tasting experience and retail unit, having expanded our range to include British spirits and beers from the UK. Borough Market We will also be opening a wholesale and education space in Borough Market over the next couple of months. We are looking to fill several roles with a crossover between the two units. Successful candidates will be able to broaden their experience of English wine and build upon their tasting knowledge, supplemented with producer tastings, in-house supplier training and product knowledge development. Trainee Assistant Manager Location: Central London Starting Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 You will be responsible for day-to-day management within one of our units, reporting either to a company director or the General Manager. You will receive intensive training and development towards becoming a full Assistant Manager. Your role will be to ensure that we deliver excellent customer service and consistent, quality food and beverages, and that company procedures are implemented and followed. You will oversee bar and/or retail staff so that all of our team meet your high standards. You will be involved with and, increasingly, take responsibility for opening and closing our units, stock control, liaising with suppliers, training and developing staff and other management functions. You will be a charismatic ‘face of the business’: selling directly on a daily basis and becoming an expert not only on our products but also on our customers. The Person: You will be outgoing, enthusiastic, organised, detail-oriented and proactive. Excellent communication skills are necessary and you must speak fluent English. You should be eager to learn, have experience in training and developing staff, be accustomed to monitoring and maintaining high standards and generally be someone who likes to lead from the front. You will be dedicated to delivering an engaging and informative wine, liquor and service experience in a fun and unpretentious manner. Your background will be either in a quality independent pub/dining concept, wine shop or independent bar. Wine and spirit qualifications are not necessary as training will be provided but candidates with WSET level 2 or above will be given priority. Bar Staff and Retail Full Time Location: Central London Salary: £7.50 - £9.00 an hour, with service charge 28 days holiday, staff discount and bonus; WSET training offered to the right candidates. Monday 11:00 to 20:00 Tuesday to Friday 11:00 to 23:00 Saturday 12:00 to 20:00 You will be energetic, outgoing and enthusiastic. Your vibrant personality will be a big part of our great customer service. You must have experience working in hospitality, preferably a wine bar or pub. You must be able to lift wine cases during deliveries, be eligible to work in the UK and live in London Wine and Spirits Communicators Experienced communicators wanted to host onsite and offsite wine and spirits events. Must be passionate about English wines and British spirits and available for ongoing training. You will work as a self-employed contractor and be available on a flexible basis to host events as and when booked. Wine Internships The Wine Pantry offers flexible Wine Internships. Internships will offer exposure to sales, purchasing, logistics and product management.
